The Attempt Explained: Youngest male pageant director set to make history

Nigeria News Source, a fast-growing online-only newspaper focusing on business, politics and entertainment, has thrown its weight behind Divine Future Johnson’s bid to set a new Guinness World Record in pageantry.

Johnson, an emerging figure in Africa’s pageant and youth development space who currently serves as Director of the Most Beautiful Campus Queen (MBCQ), announced his bid to become the World’s Youngest Pageant Director in a recent statement and in a video post via his Instagram handle, @addictive_divny.

With the move formally recognized by Guinness World Records, Johnson, 28, hopes to etch his name in history by setting a global benchmark for excellence and innovation in pageantry.

“We at Nigeria News Source are rooting for you,” Nigeria News Source replied to Johnson’s Instagram video post via its handle, @nigerianewssource.

Speaking on the development, Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of News Source Media & Publishing, publishers of Nigeria News Source, Chuks Oluigbo, said the newspaper’s support hinges on its conviction that the challenge Divine Future Johnson has embarked on is worthwhile and edifying.

“I have known Divine Future Johnson for some years now and we have been partners in progress with him on the Most Beautiful Campus Queen project since my days as Editor of The Nigerian Observer,” Oluigbo said.

“He is a hardworking, dedicated and committed young man who is propelled by the force of his conviction. We believe that the challenge he has taken up is a noble one and we have no doubt that he’ll deliver on it,” he said.

Johnson started the Most Beautiful Campus Queen pageant as a 21-year-old student at the University of Benin and, over the years, has built the platform into a springboard for young women across Nigerian campuses, empowering them through education, exposure, and entrepreneurship.

The buzz is already on for the 2025 edition of the Most Beautiful Campus Queen pageant, as well as the Student Celebrity Award and the Celebrity Fashion Weekend, all from the stables of the Johnson-led Campus Models Worldwide.

This year’s events are supported by UNICAF as the headline sponsor, as well as Edo Creative Hub, MTN, CityScope Edufair, CMW Network, The Intercept, and Nigeria News Source as the official newspaper for the events.
