Barely a month after it was released in the cinemas, actress Funke Akindele’s new movie ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ has grossed N1.6 billion at the box office, earning a place as the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa.
The movie’s distributor, FilmOne, shared the news on its Instagram page (@filmoneng) on Monday.
“A billy gang, we’re up! Everybody Loves Jennifer has grossed over 1.6 billion Naira at the box office!” FilmOne posted on Instagram.
“We can’t thank you enough for showing this movie all your love!” the company said.
The filmmaker, Akindele also took to her own Instagram page (@funkejenifaakindele) to celebrate the achievement and thank her fans.
“Na God do am. I am so grateful to you all. I don’t even know what to write again,” she wrote.
‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ was released in cinemas on December 13, 2024.
The film is about a successful businesswoman and social media influencer known for her extravagant fashion and goodhearted yet overbearing nature. Based in Lagos and Accra, Jenifa’s life takes a dramatic turn when a wealthy newcomer, Lobster, moves into her estate and quickly overshadows her community influence with his charitable deeds.
