President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has split the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State, in a major restructuring of the institution. The college will now operate as six campuses strategically located across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed this on Wednesday via its official X account.
The statement noted that the move aims to enhance efficiency, improve national coverage, and ensure smoother operations in aviation training.
According to APC, the six campuses will be located in Akure (South-West), Osubi (South-South), Ebonyi (South-East), Ilorin (North-Central), Yola (North-East), and Zaria (North-West).
The decentralisation is expected to provide wider access to aviation education, fostering growth in the sector and bridging regional gaps in training opportunities. By situating campuses in diverse regions, the government hopes to bolster the development of aviation professionals nationwide.
This decision aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of a more efficient and inclusive aviation industry in Nigeria, as the nation seeks to position itself as a hub for aviation excellence in Africa.
