The Federal Government is actively working to secure partnerships with global lessors and financiers as part of efforts to support the growth and renewal of Nigeria’s domestic airline fleet.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who disclosed this on Thursday via his official X handle, stated that the government was committed to improving stakeholder engagement.
Keyamo emphasized the need to create a thriving, globally competitive, inclusive, and resilient aviation ecosystem in Nigeria.
He said he would be leading a team from Nigeria’s aviation sector to the “Boeing Lessor Forum” in Dublin, Ireland, which is billed to take place from January 12-15. The forum, held alongside the “Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Global Conference”, is a critical step in the government’s ongoing efforts to develop the aviation sector.
The minister noted that the forum was a prime opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its reforms and build strategic alliances that will help advance the nation’s aviation industry. He expressed confidence that the delegation’s participation would lead to innovative leasing and financing solutions aligned with the country’s goals.
He further said the President Bola Tinubu administration was committed to strengthening adherence to international protocols, such as the “Cape Town Convention”, to boost investor confidence in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
