Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has signed a three-year contract with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club, Washington Spirit, with an option for an additional year.
The 21-year-old Nigerian international joins Washington Spirit after a successful tenure with the Pittsburgh Panthers, where she made 34 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.
Expressing her enthusiasm about the move, Abiodun stated, “I’m beyond thrilled to take this next step in my career by joining Washington Spirit. This isn’t just a dream; it’s a purpose I’ve poured my heart and soul into and I’m ready to give everything I have to the game I love.”
Abiodun’s addition to Washington Spirit is expected to bolster the team’s midfield options as they prepare for the upcoming NWSL season.
