It was a reunion like no other as the Offa Grammar School 1981 set came together after 43 years for a nostalgic and joyous celebration.

The heartwarming reunion held at Neniks Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State, from November 30 to December 1, 2024, brought old friends together to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate cherished memories.

The two-day event was packed with activities, including the election of new executives, which led to the emergence of Asiwaju (Engr) Oyedeji Olajubu as the President of the association and Dipo Ayandibu as Vice President 1, along with other dedicated officers who will lead the association for the next two years.

The milestone gathering featured a health seminar by a seasoned medical professional, addressing age-related health concerns and empowering members with vital knowledge for their well-being.

Speaking at the event, Asiwaju Olajubu described the gathering as a momentous and historic occasion. He stressed the need for the group to constantly meet and look out for one another.

He further encouraged his colleagues to be mindful of their health, stressing that as they age they must carefully watch out for signs of serious ailments and quickly respond to such.

“We need to be mindful of our health. We are not growing younger. This is the age to carefully watch what we eat and drink. We cannot afford to eat and drink like we used to about 4 decades ago,” Engr Olajubu noted.

He also harped on the need for the group to give back to the school, saying nothing was too much to spare for the school that gave them an early start in life.

The highlight of the reunion was the glamorous gala night, where members enjoyed a delightful evening filled with food, drinks, and vibrant networking.

The event was a remarkable opportunity for old classmates to reconnect, reflect on shared memories, and celebrate enduring friendships. From heartfelt conversations to inspiring activities, the gathering was a testament to the power of lasting bonds formed during their school days.

As the association looks forward to future meetings, the 1981 set remains committed to fostering joy, connection, and mutual support among its members.
