“Greatest Oath“, a film that highlights the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of police officers in the line of duty, premiered in Abuja on Thursday, November 21, with the Nollywood family pouring resounding commendations on the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The film, produced by Ocean Portal Entertainment and directed by Dickson Osazee Mindset, delves into the untold struggles and the high stakes of upholding an oath to serve and protect.

“Greatest Oath” features a stellar cast, including Emeka Rollas Ejezie as Officer Ray, Ifeanyi Azodo as Officer Uyi, Kenneth Ibeanusi as Officer Titus, among others, all of who bring authenticity and emotional depth to their roles.

The premiere held at the Police Finance House, Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, doubled as a celebration of peacebuilding efforts, with the prestigious Nigeria Peace Builders’ Award presented to notable individuals for their contributions to national peace. Honorees included Ijaw leader Chief Edwin Clark, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The premiere sparked conversations about strengthening the partnership between the film industry and the NPF. Stakeholders lauded the police for supporting creative ventures that showcase the positive aspects of law enforcement, a sentiment echoed by filmmaker and public relations expert, Dr. Chris Ogekalo.

“This event is an eye-opener,” Ogekalo said. “The police must continue expanding public engagement and supporting creative industries to reshape public perception.”

An actor and panel moderator, Linda Obasi, shared her evolving view of the police.

“Despite past challenges, I’ve met officers committed to changing the narrative. Events like this bring hope for a more positive relationship between the public and the police,” she noted.

The Chairman of Sylvester Ogbolu Humanitarian Foundation, Prince Sylvester Ogbolu, emphasized the role of films like “Greatest Oath” in fostering unity.

“This movie shows the sacrifices of some police officers. The government and police should collaborate more with Nollywood to bring to light these stories that are not told about the Force,” Ogbolu said.

“The movie ‘Greatest Oath’ serves as a beacon of hope for improved relations between law enforcement and the public, with Nollywood leading the charge in reshaping perceptions through storytelling,” he said.
